System Architect
Job Responsibilities
Interface with the product owners and all other stakeholders in order to determine their (evolving) needs and requirements
Generate the highest level of system requirements, based on the user’s needs and other constraints
Ensure that this set of high level requirements is consistent, complete, correct, and operationally defined.
Perform cost-benefit analyses to determine whether requirements are best met by manual, software, or hardware functions; making maximum use of commercial off-the-shelf or already developed components

Partition large systems into (successive layers of) subsystems and components each of which can be handled by a single engineer or team of engineers or subordinate architect
Work closely with the design and implementation engineers and architects, so that any problems arising during design or implementation can be resolved in accordance with the fundamental design concepts, and user needs and constraints
Ensure that a maximally robust design is developed.
Generate various products such as sketches, models, an early user guide, and prototypes to keep the user and the engineers constantly up to date and in agreement on the system to be provided
Ensure that all architectural products and products with architectural input are maintained in the most current state and never allowed to become obsolete

Job Qualifications
10-15 years experience in Web and Mobile systems, Web Services and APIs
Strong Experience in designing, developing, testing and delivering web and enterprise systems
Experience in working with, designing and maintaining scalable, distributed and modular systems and architectures, leveraging lean architecture and SOA principles
Proven track record in building and managing different Systems Development Lifecycles and workflows, including Requirements gathering, Change Management and configuration management processes and concepts
Experience with location-based/mapping services and GIS enterprise systems
Experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) is required (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Cloudformation, CloudFront, SNS, SES, IAM services experience is minimum)
Deep understanding of networking and different TCP/IP protocols
Strong experience in debugging and profiling different systems with the ability to fine-tune and optimize these systems to perform optimally
Experience in working with various Static and Dynamic languages (Java EE & Ruby on Rails are minimum, others like Python, Groovy, JavaScript with Node.js are optional)
Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD), unit and integration testing, defect analysis and resolution
A track record of managing and modeling well-crafted software solutions
Committed to deliver quality software solutions using Agile software development cycles
Strong problem-solving ability
Must have excellent written and verbal communication, documentation, analytical, and data gathering skills
